Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city lights
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close; I heard a voice
Standing, stretching every nerve
I had to listen; had no choice
I did not believe the information
Just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom - peter gabriel

behind the sands of my eyes

My belly rumbles with hunger. We've had some very lean times since I last wrote. Its getting dangerous in the dry lands. Everyone lives for greed or so it seems. Not a polite stranger in sight.

We are down to roots and a handful of beans. No luck with Duncan, either. I suspected he'd be back in my dreams, but no luck.

Something may have happened to him. If only their were a sign. A sign out there to tell me which way to go. Its a harsh time for everyone.

We need hope. I have nothing to offer anyone these days. Not even Angeline. The only one who thrives among us.

I see the tiredness in Axel's eyes. He says little to me. Why do I feel its always my fault?

Sometimes, I wonder is the nightmare I chose to awake in. Is reality far better than this?

I can only hope.

Wake up. Wake up...wake up.
