My wish for you, sweet happy life. May all your sorrows be gone and your heart begin to sing And if a wish can make it be. I wish for you, spend everyday of your happy life with me... The men have gone out on a hunt. Pheasant were near by. One of the maidens started sing about the Harvest Feast. I'd completely forgotten what time of year it was. Yes, Harvest time. A time of Thanksgiving. A time when friends and neighbors feast most of the week. Or at least the latter part. The first part is more of a religious tone of praying and fasting, baking bread for the weak and the distressed. Then it ends with quite merryment. Dancing, lots of ale, courting, bundling. Usually in a couple of weeks, many are betrothed and stay in the state of joy til early spring when many weddings start. Not this year. Lord knows what pity lays before us. I'm shocked they thought of the pheasant. I know my brother will have as much singing, dancing as possible. I'm not in any mood. There is nothing to be thankful far. I'd rather be alone with my book. With my memories. I can't possibly think of joy at a time like this. I wish no one had even thought of Harvest Feast. I can not laugh. The laughter is gone.
